Here is the next stage of the Donkey and her foal in progress. This drawing is A3 in size (approximatelly 29cm x 42cm). Because of all the detail, it is going to take a while!/

The daughter of a friend of mine./ La hija de un amigo mío.

This is a little drawing I did for a friend of mine of his daughter. I do not normally do portraits of people, I prefer to draw animals. The donkey picture is coming along, I will put an update here tomorrow. /

Se trata de un pequeño dibujo que hice para una amigo de su hija. No suelo hacer retratos de personas, prefiero dibujar animales. La imagen burro está llegando a lo largo, voy a poner aquí una actualización de mañana.

Two new drawings./ Dos dibujos neuvo.

Yesterday and the day before I was working on a drawing of a donkey and her foal. This is the progress on her so far. I have also been working on a drawing of a Spanish man on a horse. This is smaller than the donkey picture so should not take so long. My thanks to Lucía Díaz Puig for the use of her photo of horse and rider.

Ayer y el día antes de que yo estaba trabajando en un dibujo de un burro y su potro. Este es el progreso en su hasta ahora. También he estado trabajando en un dibujo de un hombre español en un caballo. Este es más pequeño que la imagen burro por lo que no debe tomar mucho tiempo. Mi agradecimiento a Lucía Díaz Puig para el uso de la foto del caballo y el jinete.

Siamese cat again and more./ Gato siamés nuevo y más

This might seem really boring but here is the second drawing of the siamese cat that I had to do for another client. With those two drawings out of the way, I am about to start on a horse and rider, at the same time I will be doing a donkey and her foal. I will try to post progress pictures on both drawings if I can. It is getting dark earlier in the evening and getting hard to try and photograph drawings in the daylight. /

Esto puede parecer muy aburrido, pero aquí es el segundo dibujo del gato siamés que tuve que hacer por otro cliente. Con estos dos dibujos de en medio, estoy a punto de comenzar en un caballo y jinete, al mismo tiempo voy a estar haciendo un burro y su potro. Voy a tratar de publicar imágenes progreso en ambos dibujos, si puedo. Cada vez es más oscuro antes de la noche y se vuelve más difícil tratar de dibujos fotografía en la luz del día.

When I go to the horse shows in Spain I often go with the idea of taking a set of themed photos. On this particular visit to Jerez I decided to take lots of pictures of the brands on the horse, maybe someone might know who the brands belong to... ?

Postcards from exhibitions./ Postales de exposiciones

Had a busy day all in all. Managed to get quite a bit done to the second Siamese cat drawing. Cleaned the house through (more or less!), got up to date with paperwork. And I have made bolognaise sauce in huge quantity to freeze and also mince in huge quantity too!!

When I go to exhibitions or museums I often buy postcards of the artworks that I like and I had a whole pile of them sitting around in various places in bags never getting seen so this is what I decided to do with them. These photos are of my upstairs landing where there are gaps between the doors which are just the right size for postcards! I expect one day I will have the whole landing filled with my favourite pictures!

En primer lugar, lo siento por mi español malo. Puedo usar traductor Google, así que no sé cuándo es correcto o no. : (
Tenido un día ocupado todo en todos. Consiguió un poco hacer el dibujo del gato siamés segundo. Limpiar la casa a través de (más o menos!), Se levantó al día con el papeleo. Y he hecho la salsa boloñesa en gran cantidad para congelar y también carne picada en gran cantidad también!
Cuando voy a exposiciones o museos que a menudo compran postales de las obras de arte que me gusta y yo tenía un montón de ellos sentados en lugares diferentes en bolsas nunca visto hasta conseguir esto es lo que me decidí a hacer con ellos. Estas fotos son de mi aterrizaje arriba, donde hay espacios entre las puertas que están en el tamaño justo para las postales!Espero que algún día tendrá el aterrizaje todo lleno de fotos mi favorito!

Ok, I managed to get the first one of these finished. I have started the second one but won't bother to blog that one. I have chosen some donkey pictures that I plan to draw from (I will blog that once I get started on it). Short and sweet today as I have a bit of a headache! Too much time drawing and too much time on FB!!

Mr Moss had his annual jabs today which didn't please him one little bit :(   /  Ok, me las arreglé para obtener el primero de estos acabados. He comenzado el segundo, pero no se molestó en un blog que. He escogido algunas fotos burro que pienso sacar de (voy a blog que una vez que empezar a trabajar en ella). Hoy en día corto y dulce como tengo un poco de dolor de cabeza! Demasiado dibujo mucho tiempo y mucho tiempo en FB!
El Sr. Moss tuvo su pinchazos anuales hoy que no le gustó ni un poquito     : (

Siamese in progress 3

Had a busy day today including getting on quite well with the drawing of the Siamese cat. Took some photos of Mr Moss in the garden (him jumping on his toy ready to kill it again) and considering doing a drawing of him (maybe from the other photo) for next years Society of Women Artists exhibition, not sure yet though. Even managed to cut the grass today and get the shopping.

Here is the siamese cat in progress (day 2). I took last night off to look at the Pino books (I highly recommend them if you like good art and books!). Got on quite well today except that my eyes were complaining a bit from sitting so long looking at the drawing!

I was just a bit naughty the other day and bought 2 books on Pino (Contemporary Realism and Timeless Visions). They are great books with lots and lots of pictures in, how I wish I could paint like him. His inspiration was/is the spanish painter Joaquin Sorolla and John Singer Sargent (also 2 of my favourite artists). Anyway, I just had to treat myself to these books :)

Been out doing my other work today and at one of the houses I go to they have just acquired some alpacas. I wish I had had my camera with me! Anyway it doesn't really matter because they are at the same place as my studio so I only have to walk round the corner out of my studio door and there they are...... expect to see some Alpaca paintings and drawings here at some point (probably after the bulk of the commissions are done). I will upload a couple of photos of the Pino books later (Blogger uploading is out of action until about 7pm). Doubt I will get any drawing done today - my nose will be firmly planted in the two Pino books!!

I have just learned that this chap sadly died in May this year.... I was hoping to follow his new works but seems not now. Shame such talent has to leave us.... Sad.

Siamese in progress.

I actually have 2 to do of the same here. I won't put both up here but this is the first one. I started this yesterday but been too busy to do any to it today. Also got to do another drawing of a cat that I have drawn before but in a different pose this time. The owners have one of him already and now want a second of him. He's really interestingly marked so a good picture to draw!

Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen drawing FINISHED!

Right, here she is in all her glory. The owners are happy so I am happy. I only added a bit more onto the right hand side of her ear but I feel that it balanced the drawing up better. Next on the list is a siamese. Just had another commission through (awaiting choosing photos) of a deerhound with a Westie..... best I get on and do some drawing!!! / Muy bien, aquí está en todo su esplendor. Los propietarios estáncontentos, así que estoy feliz. Yo sólo agregó un poco más en el lado derecho de la oreja, pero creo que es equilibrado el dibujo mejor. Siguiente en la lista es un siamés. Sólo había otra comisióna través de (a la espera de la elección de fotos) de un Deerhound con un Westie ..... mejor que subir y hacer algo de dibujo!

Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen drawing in progress (nearly there)

I am nearly there with this lass. (I have actually done all I want to do to her but wasn't able to photograph the work I did later this afternoon/ evening) so this is the "nearly done" version. I put my signature on it simply because of working out the balance for how much more hair to add! If the owners "ok" the finished drawing it will be here tomorrow night hopefully!

Went and photographed another one for commission today as well, a lovely labrador. Another to look forward to drawing.
