Day 36 - Sennen Cove in evening light.

Title: Sennen Cove in evening light.
Price: £60.00
Medium: Oil on board.
Size: 20cm x 15cm

Here's a painting I did of Sennen Cove (another of my favourites to keep painting!) It changes every time I am down there and even in the heavy mist it's beautiful to paint. I did some of this from life and added a few bits like the people and dog and the person on the pier today. I am working on the second Mini Doma Vaquera picture to hopefully blog tomorrow.

Day 35 - Doma Vaquera Mini 1

Title: Doma Vaquera Mini 1.
Price: £50.00
Medium: Graphite pencil on heavyweight cartridge paper.
Size: 12cm x 12cm approx.
I have been "drawn" to another Doma Vaquera picture.. I am going to do a little series of these and probably all the same size. I love watching Doma Vaquera and this horse I saw at Jerez at the National championships. I sat watching and taking photos for hours of the concurso. I am also probably going to do a series on Mini Rejoneadors too, again - probably all about the same size as this. I have to try to get another picture done today for Tuesday as I am off to London for the Private View from really early in the morning until almost midnight so as I don't want to miss a day I have to start it now!

Day 34 - River Boat Hut.

Title: River Boat Hut.
Price: £50.00
Medium: Oil on board.
Size: 20cm x 15cm

Well here's a fiddled about little piece with lots of bits and bobs added! I did this mainly yesterday evening whilst waiting for my fish and chips at Westbay. I waited until this afternoon to fiddle with the writing etc as it would have been too difficult to do it wet oil onto wet oil. It was just about dry enough to put the lettering on today! Had a lovely chat with the owner of the hut who rents boats out to take up the river. He's been there many years and I have been going down to Westbay for a very long time. He makes his boats himself and one day I will hire one but it requires someone to row it which I don't think I would be capable off!!!!

Day 33 - Sketch of a grey.

Title: Sketch of a grey.
Price: £45.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Oil on board
Size: 16.5cm x 15cm

This is just a quick little sketch that I have done of a grey horse. I deliberatelly kept it quite sketchy but somehow I still managed to keep fiddling with it! I find it really hard to keep things very loose, it's something I must practise more. I am a third of the way through now in the 100 days and I have done one third of a painting for tomorrows blog so I really am a third of the way through! I wanted to do more on the painting for tomorrow but I have to wait for it to dry a bit before doing some lettering (and fiddling about!!) :D

Day 32 - Lamorna Cove

Title: Lamorna Cove.
Price: £50.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Oil on board
Size: 20cm x 15cm

This is another of my favourite spots in Cornwall. Lamorna Cove. This is where many of the big name artists lived or lived nearby and it is such a pretty little cove and wonderful to paint. You will have seen earlier on in my blogging days that I put some paintings up of it before (before the 100 days project). Munnings, Stanhope Forbes, Lamorna Birch, Laura and Harold Knight to name but a few lived here. I had a long chat one day with a lady who's grandfather rented the stables and studio above to Munnings and her father used to drive them around on their pony and trap between parties. She doesn't own the place where Munnings was now but still has the Mill in Lamorna. When I stayed in Lamorna before, I was in a B & B that once belonged to Laura Knight and I slept in the room that was rented to Florence "Blote" Munnings before she married him. A lovely place in all seasons and weathers.

Title: German Shepherd.
Price: £60.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Graphite pencil on heavyweight cartridge paper.
Size: 9cm x 14cm

Oh blimey, I didn't realise it was going to be quite so difficult to do this 100 days blog and keep up with commissions and exhibition pieces, and go to work and all the other bits that need doing!! WILL NOT GIVE UP though! Today is a smaller pencil drawing of a German Shepherd, he was a really handsome chap and had lovely tonal values which I always try to look for in a reference photo for pencil drawing. I have to upload tomorrows picture yet, didn't have time last night at the late hour I came home. It is a painting that I did of Lamorna Cove (I have done it several times already but I think this is maybe the best one I have done of it yet.... it will be here tomorrow!)

Price: £60.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Oil on Board
Size: 20cm x 15cm

Another night when I wasn't sure I was going to get here before missing the midnight deadline! Just got back from Cornwall, stopping on Dartmoor on the way home! Here is a painting of a stream that runs down the Cott Valley to the sea. It's a really pretty stream with lots of flowers alongside it. On Dartmoor we saw some sweet ponies (again!). Whilst in Cornwall we also went to Cape Cornwall, Penzance and Mousehole. Tomorrow I will try to put some of my sketches from my sketchbook up on "A page for changes" page here! Been quite busy.

Title: Siamese Portrait.
Price: £80.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Graphite pencil on heavyweight cartridge paper.
Size: 12.5cm x 18cm

An early one this morning - have just finished him and taken the photos. Going out for a long day today so thought I best blog now instead of later. This Siamese belongs to a friend of mine and his "proper" name is Sir Alfred Munnings" ! His pet name is Alfie. He is the first Siamese that I have really got to know and he is VERY vocal and always up to mischief doing things like creating avalanches in the house or killing the bantams! (thankfully he seems to have stopped doing that now!). He also likes to bring things into the house alive and then let them go! Naughty boy.

Day 27 - Devon fields.

Title: Devon Fields.
Price: £70.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Oil on board
Size: 20cm x 15cm

I went up to the studio this morning to sort out my pochade box and refill my small tubes of oil paints for in the box. Whilst I was doing that I had a bit of a touching up session on a painting that I started in Devon. I had to wait until it was dry to get the final touches onto it (they actually took as long as the painting did from life!). I will also put a photo of me painting the picture whilst in Devon (enjoying the sunshine and taken by a friend of mine who was also down in Devon). I will be blogging early tomorrow as I have nearly finished the drawing I have started for day 28. I also went today to photograph a beautiful Connemara stallion in a stunning liver chestnut. The lady tells me that his colour is out of fashion with the breed at the moment but I think it is a much more interesting colour than grey!! I will be trying to draw him at the same time as doing the 100 days blog. Am also very glad that I decided not to do the Feline artists this year! Incidentally - the photo of me is not for sale!!!!!

Title: Teddy.
Price: £85.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Graphite pencil on heavyweight cartridge paper.
Size: 11cm x 11.5cm

Today's picture has come about through my decision not to exhibit this year with the Society of Feline Artists. I did draw Teddy a couple of days ago but am now working on a Siamese who was also going to go to London. Teddy is a lot cheaper here on the blog than he would have been had he taken his trip to London!

Day 25 - Arab Mare, Maheela

Title: Arab Mare, Maheela.
Price: £80.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Graphite pencil on heavyweight cartridge paper.
Size: 13cm x 19cm

Phew, thought I wasn't going to get this finished tonight because I started it last night and got about half way through and have been out working all day and came home to finish this. Needed to get it done as quickly as possible because I can only photograph in daylight outside and it looks like it is going to pour with rain any minute!! This beautiful girl is called Maheela and the photo was courtesy of Hanne Berg (on Facebook). She has some really beautiful horses and I was drawn (pardon the pun!) to this one with her stunning beauty. And what's more - I am a quarter of the way there with the 100 days!!! A milestone!

Title: Arum Lillies.
Price: £40.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Oil on board
Size: 20cm x 15cm

Another flowery day but today is from the UK! It's Arum lily time and I wanted to capture the very white flowers against the pond in the background and with the sun on them they had lovely yellow highlights on the leaves. I never saw myself as a flower painter but I do enjoy painting them as something different to do!

Title: Bouganvillea.
Price: £70.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Oil on board
Size: 20cm x 15cm

SOLD

This picture is one that I did mainly from life when I was in Spain in May. I have touched it up tonight with a few dark bits and changed the shadows a bit as I still had a few blobs of paint left on the palette from last night. It was on the patio of the house I was staying in whilst out there and beautiful to see. I only wish that we could grow it like this in this country and not have to bring it in during the winter. Was up at 5am and drove up to London for the handing in day of the SEA. Pleased as I got all 6 of mine accepted. It was a good day seeing all my pals up there. Very very tired tonight after the drive back too. Very much looking forward to going to bed and it might be an early night tonight!!!

Day 22 - Grey mare as model

Title: Grey Mare as model.
Price: £60.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Oil on board
Size: 20cm x 15cm

I have been touching up this picture today as I started it down in Devon during the Devon Art week. This mare was so good standing still all day (by the name of Misty) and the owner holding her was a very good handler. It was a really hot sunny day which bleached out a lot of the colours and this was done around mid day in full sun too. I have also been working on a cat picture today (not for the blog) for the Society of Feline Artists (I will put it on Facebook later but not here so it doesn't get confusing as to what is for sale and what isn't!

Day 21 - Sketches of Moss

Title: Sketches of Moss.
Price: £45.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Graphite pencil on heavyweight cartridge paper.
Size: 28cm x 40cm total (A3 size)

I am normally quite particular about my sketches and people looking at them but I thought for the first time I would offer for sale a page of my sketches. The total size of the page is A3 but there are 7 and a bit sketches on it. I said at the beginning of the 100 days blog that I would try to occasionally offer something different. This is my dog, mainly whilst he was sleeping last night but I managed to get him mesmerised by a toy to get him with his head up! My sketches are much looser than my "proper" pencil drawings as these are all done from life. I hope you enjoy them!

Day 20 - Spanish Looking Back

Title: Spanish Looking Back.
Price: £50.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Graphite pencil on heavyweight cartridge paper.
Size: 11cm x 11cm

SOLD

This lovely Andalucian stallion was at a show in Spain that I went to a couple of years ago. He was tied up with several other stallions in a yard and was so calm but being quite nosey compared to the other horses who were falling asleep in the heat of the day. This is one of my favourite poses to draw horses in particular although I have done several other animals doing the "looking back" pose too. Just a bit of insignificant information now, in Spain they spell Andalucia with a "c" but in America they spell it with a "s" where the c would go in Spanish. It is pronounced Andaloothea as the i actually should have an accent over it. So there is your useless bit of information for the day!!! I am trying to work to keep the 100 days going at the same time as trying to get some cat drawings done for the Society of Feline Artists exhibition in London next month and I have also just had some more commissions come in so it's busy busy busy just now. Day 7 of the 100 days sold today, thank you to the new owner.

Title: Arab Foal - Sahaar
Price: £75.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Graphite pencil on heavyweight cartridge paper.
Size: 14cm x 17cm

This cute little guy I have to thank a lady on Facebook for the use of her photograph. I just couldn't resist him. The actual foal himself is also up for sale his name is Sahaar and if I had the money and he wasn't so far away I think I would buy him!! I just loved that little muzzle and his pretty eye. Hope you enjoy!

Title: Patio flowers in Spain.
Price: £75.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Oil on board
Size: 20cm x 15cm

SOLD

I am in Spain today for the blog (not me literally unfortunatelly!). These are some flowers that were on the patio of the house that I was staying in when I went out to Spain in May. I really liked the teracotta tiles with the white walls and the shadows on the wall and floor from the plant. I am not very botanically minded so don't know what the flower was, maybe a Jasmine? I am working on another pencil drawing for tomorrow (another foal but of a different sort!)

Title: All legs and ears.
Price: £80.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Graphite pencil on heavyweight cartridge paper.
Size: 13cm x 20cm

So for all donkey fans out there, I got the donkey foal finished last night and photographed it this afternoon. This baby was only about 5 days old and soooo very friendly. It was actually quite hard to get a picture of him because he kept wanting to come over and talk to me. I kept getting his nose in the camera lens! There will be more donks soon!

Title: Boat at Cape Cornwall.
Price: £70.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Oil on board
Size: 20cm x 15cm

Today's picture is a boat dry docked at Cape Cornwall, I started this painting whilst I was down in Cornwall a couple of weeks ago but didn't manage to finish it there. I have finished off the details (or as a friend of mine would say- tittling with a small brush!) this morning before going to photograph a Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen (who incidentally was really sweet and lovely!)
I really wanted to blog a donkey drawing tonight but I just haven't managed to get it finished in time so it will probably be tomorrow.

DAY 15 - Hounds

Title: Hounds.
Price: £85.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Graphite pencil on heavyweight cartridge paper.
Size: 18.5cm x 13cm
SOLD
I actually started this drawing yesterday as it is impossible for me to get one this size done in one day. I have just finished it and want to get on and draw a donkey so thought I would do the blog early today. This size of drawing would normally sell at around £200 so it's a bit of a bargain today! I love drawing hounds because I like the shape of their heads, I always think they are very sculptural looking.

DAY 14 - Haytor, Dartmoor

Title: Haytor, Dartmoor.
Price: £50.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Graphite pencil on heavyweight cartridge paper.
Size: 6" x 8"

Here is the other little picture that I actually did yesterday on Dartmoor. It is of Haytor on the moor. The heather has just started to come out on Dartmoor so I exagerated it just a little to make it look like it was out more than it actually was. I am working on a slightly larger pencil drawing of some Hounds which I hope to finish for tomorrows blog, but then again - I might just have to do a donkey foal, will have to wait and see which I finish first! I have been taking photos of donkey foals (less than a week old with huge ears!) today. They were SO SO cute and friendly. I am going to try to put some pics of them and also the foals we found on Dartmoor yesterday onto facebook - this is the link for my page where I will be adding new pics. If you like what you see, do click on the like button! Day 13 - Dartmoor Again.

Title: Dartmoor bridge.
Price: £65.00 (price includes postage & packing within UK - please contact me for other destinations)
Medium: Oil on board
Size: 6" x 8"

Wasn't sure if I was going to get home in time to blog tonight and was actually starting to worry about it!! I have been down to Dartmoor today with my parents and to meet an old friend who is down from Scotland. I did 2 paintings on Dartmoor today - this one of one of the bridges at Two Bridges (with my Dad sat on the top of the bridge!). The other is of Haytor which I will possibly post tomorrow. I took some wonderful foally pictures again today even though the light wasn't at its best. I did also come across MY foal which I made friends with the last time I was on the Moor, she wanted to play with me today but I wouldn't let her as I didn't have much in the way of protection in the clothing direction! She is such a sweet little lass. We ate on the way home, hence the reason I am so late tonight. Whilst writing this I am downloading the photos of the painting too and making the paypal button and now the download from the camera is messing about. Right got it here now, with only half an hour to spare until midnight! Whew!
