Watercolour sketches./ Acuarela bocetos.

Well having spent the morning trying to make copies of all correspondence regarding a RTA I had in November where I was stationary and the third party hit my car, I had to go out to the car to collect some of the documents. Whilst I was there, I saw the Watercolour sketch book that I keep in the car and decided to post one of the sketches. This one was done in Cornwall last June and it is literally postcard size: that is nearly 4" x 6" and took about 40 minutes. I tend to take longer on the watercolour sketches than the oil sketches as they are much less forgiving and not so easy to wipe out mistakes! I will at some point take some photos of the kit that I take out with me for watercolours (have to keep at the drawing of Merlin today so no time for photographs today!). / Bueno después de haber pasado la mañana tratando de hacer copias de toda la correspondencia en relación con un acuerdo comercial regional que había en noviembre de donde yo esta baparado y el tercero golpeó mi coche, tuve que ir al coche para recoger algunos de los documentos. Mientras estuve allí, vi el cuaderno Acuarela que tengo en el coche y decidió crear uno de los bocetos. Éste se llevó a cabo en Cornwall en junio pasado yes, literalmente, tamaño postal, es decir cerca de 4 "x 6" y se llevóunos 40 minutos. Tiendo a tomar más tiempo en los dibujos de acuarela que el aceite de bocetos, ya que son mucho menos tolerantes y no tan fácil de borrar los errores! Yo en algún momento de tomar algunas fotos del equipo que llevo conmigo para acuarelas (tiene que guardar en el sorteo de hoy Merlín tanpoco tiempo para las fotos de hoy!).

Well today I will continue on the black pony (I won't be posting any photos of any commissions until they are approved by the purchaser unless they ask me to put progress photos on my blog). I also have a retriever cross coming to have her photo taken today with a view to having her portrait done in pencil. In the meantime, here's a picture I did of Alfie, a friends lovely siamese cat who was watching my dog at the bottom of the stairs. He is such an elegant boy and has eyes to die for! This one went to the Society of Feline Artists exhibition last year in London but sold subsequently to a lady who bought 3 of my cat drawings to have them all coming down her stairs! / Pues bien, hoy voy a seguir en el caballo negro (no voy a publicarlas fotos de las comisiones hasta que sean aprobados por el comprador a menos que me piden que ponga fotos progreso en mi blog). También tengo un perro cruzado que pasó a tener su foto tomada hoy con el fin de tener su retrato hecho a lápiz. Mientras tanto, aquí está una foto que hice de Alfie, un gato siamés amigos hermosa que estaba viendo a mi perro en la parte inferior de la escalera. Él es un chico tan elegante y tiene ojos para morirse!Este se dirigió a la Sociedad de Artistas exposición felina el año pasado en Londres, pero posteriormente vendida a una señoraque compró tres de los dibujos de mi gato para que todos ellos vienen por sus escaleras!

Starting a new commission. / Inicio de una nueva comisión.

Well today is the day to start a new commission, a sweet little black pony by the name of Merlin. In the meantime, here a couple more pochade paintings I did whilst in Cornwall last November.

The sea sketch was done on my way home from a few rather wet and windy days in Cornwall and this is Cape Cornwall. I did sit in the car with the pochade box on my lap as it was very windy and quite cold. It took about half an hour to do and measures 6" x 8". The second one of the church is Sancreed Church. This is the place where Florence Munnings (Sir Alfred Munnings first wife) was buried. Also buried here are Stanhope and Elizabeth Forbes of the Newlyn School of artists. It's a really quaint little church and I sat under a rather large thick holly bush to paint this as it was raining and the holly bush being evergreen and thick acted rather like an umbrella. What rain did get to me didn't seem to affect the palette or the painting. This one again is 6" x 8" and took about half an hour. It was too cold to sit out for too long! If you like plein air painting then a pochade box is just what you need. I opted for the one that takes 3 boards of 6" x 8" and I can fit everything that I need including paints, medium, turps, brushes, palette knife and rags! I got mine from a chap in Minehead who also sells the ones that take the 8" x 10" boards (another really useful size). I bought mine without the handle but put D rings on it and added a dog collar as a handle as I didn't really need a shoulder strap. However, I have put a thin light nylon strap from an old bag or something onto the D rings so that I do have the option if I want it. Pues bien, hoy es el día para iniciar una nueva comisión, un dulce pequeño pony negro con el nombre de Merlín. Mientras tanto, aquíun par de cuadros más pochade hice mientras que en Cornwall pasado mes de noviembre.
El boceto del mar se hizo en mi camino a casa desde unos pocos días en lugar húmedo y ventoso en Cornwall y esto es Cabo Cornwall. Me senté en el coche con el cuadro de pochade en miregazo, ya que hacía mucho viento y frío bastante. Tomó cerca demedia hora para hacer y medidas de 6 "x 8". El segundo de la iglesia es Sancreed Iglesia. Este es el lugar donde Florence Munnings (Sir Alfred Munnings primera esposa) fue enterrado.También aquí están enterrados Stanhope y Elizabeth Forbes de la Escuela Newlyn de los artistas. Es una pequeña iglesia  muy pintoresca  y yo nos sentamos debajo de un lugar de gran espesoracebo para pintar esto como estaba lloviendo y el acebo de hoja perenne que se espesa y actuado más bien como un paraguas.Lo que la lluvia hizo llegar a mí no parece afectar a la paleta o la pintura. Esta vez es de 6 "x 8 " y tomó cerca de media hora. Hacía demasiado frío para sentarse durante mucho tiempo! Si te gusta pintar al aire libre a continuación, un cuadro de pochade es justolo que necesita. Opté por la que se da tres consejos de administración de 6 "x 8 " y que puede caber todo lo que necesito incluyendo pinturas, medio, aguarrás, pinceles, espátula y los trapos! Yo tengo la mía de un capítulo en Minehead que también vende los que tienen los 8 "x 10" tablas (otro tamaño realmenteútil). Compré el mío sin el mango, pero poner los anillos D en él yagregó un collar de perro como un mango que yo realmente no necesita una correa para el hombro. Sin embargo, he puesto una correa de nylon delgada luz de un viejo saco o algo en los anillos D dede modo que tengo la opción si lo desea . El enlace para comprar las cajas pochade está por debajo y es un tipo de ayuda muy amable que se le hizo un agujero del pulgar en la parte inferior de la caja más pequeña si usted lo desea. Derecha, salida para iniciar el dibujo de caballo, yo también soy niñera dos pequeños Terrier Norfolk este fin de semana con ellos y Moss,que será un fin de semana muy ocupado!  http://www.pochade.org.uk/index.htm

Latest commission - horse and trap / Última comisión - enganches

Here is the latest commission that I finished a couple of weeks ago, it's away at the framers now. I went to Frome show last year to take the photos and I got some lovely photos and reference for some other drawings. One of my favourite poses is one I call the Looking back pose. I have also posted an example of one of my looking back drawings. The Spanish Looking back picture (approx A3 size) was done from a visit to Sevilla in Spain to a show called SICAB a couple of years ago. He was in the process of being washed down and he just happened to look back at me for my favourite pose. This chap sold at Newmarket in 2008 at the Society of Equestrian Artists exhibition. The Spanish horse is my favourite breed to draw and paint, they are so noble and proud - just like the spanish race who are very proud people. / Esta es la última comisión que terminé hace un par de semanas,es lejos en los autores ahora. Fui a Frome muestran el año pasado para tomar las fotos y tengo algunas fotos encantadoras y de referencia para algunos otros dibujos. Uno de mis favoritos plantea es que yo llame a la retrospectiva plantean. También he publicado un ejemplo de uno de mis dibujos de nuevo buscando.El cuadro español Mirando hacia atrás (tamaño A3 aproximadamente) se realizó de una visita a Sevilla en España aun espectáculo llamado SICAB hace un par de años. Él estaba enproceso de ser regado y acaba de pasar a mirar hacia atrás de mí por mi pose favorita. Este capítulo vendidos en Newmarket en2008 en la Sociedad de Artistas Ecuestre exposición. El caballo español es mi raza favorita para dibujar y pintar, son tan nobles yorgullosos - al igual que la raza española, que son gente muy orgullosa.
